  3. 9:50 - 10:35 networking Keynote

How-to build great software products (SAP Edition)?

    Matthias Steiner (Syntax Software)

I want to provide an opening 'keynote'/impuls (framing?) presentation that takes people down memory lane of "software engineering with SAP-centric focus" (Timeless software, composites, NW, NW 2.0 -> BTP) all the way to gen-AI centric software engineering. I'll introduce the concept of "AppFactories", include design thinking and product market fit, and the cultural shift of engineering teams. We'll explore end-to-end governance from strategic ideation, execution excellence and GTM as the "new moat in software engineering" (in contrast of "devs are the new kingmakers and 5x Gap in the past - early 2020). In short: what is great software? what is great software engineering? art? craft! Heavily inpacted and evolving....

    SAP Knowledge Graph in action

    Chris Al Gerges (Expertum Nederland)

During this session, Expertum's Data and AI expert Chris Al Gerges will present a live demo of an SAP BTP app using SAP Knowledge Graph. The app will use the Resource Description Framework triplets to map the relation between business entities, structure this information in a sustainable way and then retrieve it on demand in the right context. Various technologies such as SAP HANA Cloud, Anthropic Claude 3.7 Sonnet, GPT4o and of course SAP's AI Core and AI Launchpad will be leveraged to realize this application. All in all, a session that is a little different and might be interesting for BIers and Developers alike!

  7. 11:25 - 12:00 networking Talk

Start Now: AI for every SAP Landscape

    Wouter Lemaire (Independent Consultant )

SAP Joule requires S/4HANA private cloud, but most companies still run on-premise or ECC. This session shows how MCP servers on SAP BTP securely connect any SAP system to modern AI platforms via Cloud Connector with principal propagation. A live demo highlights querying SAP data through an AI agent, covering architecture, security, and implementation steps.

  8. 11:25 - 11:55 universe Talk

From SAP BW to Datasphere: High-Volume Migration with a Performance Boost

    Martijn Plugge (Interdobs)

Migrating from SAP BW to SAP Datasphere is already a challenge. In this project, the source system was a HANA database with poorly performing views, millions of records per day, and a business expectation for real-time reporting. The task was clear: not just lift and shift, but completely redesign the model while delivering a major performance improvement. In this session, I will walk you through how we tackled it: - Replacing poorly performing HANA views with a leaner model in Datasphere - Handling millions of records per day efficiently with robust processing strategies - Detecting duplicates, tracking deletions, and ensuring reliable delta logic - Applying performance optimizations and data structures to enable near real-time reporting - The result: a scalable, future-proof model that not only migrated successfully but also delivered a significant performance boost. Whether you are preparing for a similar migration or simply want to learn how to get the most out of Datasphere for large-scale data volumes, this session will share practical tips, common pitfalls to avoid, and insights straight from the field.

Agents at Work: Practical AI for SAP

    Jazwin Mohammed (McCoy)

Watch how Agentic AI quietly takes the busywork out of SAP. From purchase requests to warehouse hiccups and shop-floor guidance, we’ll show practical wins where AI agents check rules, complete steps, and steer decisions. Without users having to lift a finger in SAP screens. You’ll see what “agentic AI” looks like in business terms: faster approvals, fewer errors, and confident decisions.

  11. 13:00 - 13:35 universe Talk

Best practices & Lessons learned using replication flows in datasphere

Joran de Vries (McCoy & Partners B.V.)

This presentation will be about the lessons learned & best practices of using replication flows at the Alliander greenfield datasphere project. It will consist of about 15 minutes of theory, 10 minutes of (live) demonstration and 5 minutes of QA.

  12. 13:35 - 14:10 networking Talk

Mastering the Art of Talking to AI

    Robin van het Hof (ASML)

Ever feel like AI is giving you spaghetti when you asked for lasagna? This session explores practical techniques for transforming vague human intentions into precise prompts that yield production-quality code. I will apply Test-Driven Development principles with AI assistants, leverage Spec-Driven Development to deliver consistent results, how to untangle legacy codebases with support from AI, etc. Through live demonstrations and virtually no slides I will show how to turn your AI assistant from a somewhat unpredictable tool to a way more reliable development partner.

  13. 13:35 - 14:10 universe Talk

Let it snow, let it snow, let it Snowflake

    Jan van Ansem (Snap Analytics)

Since the SAP Databricks partnership, the world has been eagerly anticipating a similar announcement for a SAP and Snowflake partnership. There are some rumours that this will happen during SAP Connect on 6th October in Las Vegas. If that happens, I will share with you my take on what this means for customers and the best practice for a landscape where SAP and Snowflake co-exist. If there is no announcement at Vegas about Snowflake, then I'm f***ed and will fill my timeslot with impromptu singing and dancing.. as they say "The show must go own".

  14. 14:10 - 14:45 networking Talk

How to identify customer SAP AI use-cases.

    Robert Eijpe (NL for Business)

In my session, I’ll explore the impact of SAP’s expanding AI landscape on organisations — from embedded intelligence and SAP Joule to custom model development with SAP AI Core and data integration via MCP. I’ll focus on the practical consequences for business operations, governance, and skills, and show how organisations can identify and prioritise their own high-value AI use cases.

  15. 14:10 - 14:45 universe Talk

Road from BW 7.5 on AnyDB to SAP Datasphere and beyond

    Tobias Meyer (Nagarro)

Modernizing SAP API Security with Principal Propagation

    Kevin Wang (ST Consultancy B.V.)

Many SAP customers still expose their on-premise SAP APIs using basic authentication - handing out usernames and passwords across teams. While this may seem straightforward, it introduces serious risks: leaked credentials, lack of traceability, and limited control over who accesses what. In this session, we’ll explore how Principal Propagation transforms SAP integrations by eliminating the need to share credentials. You’ll learn how it enables secure, user- and application-level traceability in the SAP backend, supports last-mile security checks, and allows for customized authorizations. Through real-world examples and practical insights, we’ll show why Principal Propagation is a game-changer for modern SAP landscapes.
