   SAP Knowledge Graph in action

   Chris Al Gerges (Expertum Nederland)

   During this session, Expertum's Data and AI expert Chris Al Gerges will present a live demo of an SAP BTP app using SAP Knowledge Graph. The app will use the Resource Description Framework triplets to map the relation between business entities, structure this information in a sustainable way and then retrieve it on demand in the right context. Various technologies such as SAP HANA Cloud, Anthropic Claude 3.7 Sonnet, GPT4o and of course SAP's AI Core and AI Launchpad will be leveraged to realize this application. All in all, a session that is a little different and might be interesting for BIers and Developers alike!

   I want to provide an opening 'keynote'/impuls (framing?) presentation that takes people down memory lane of "software engineering with SAP-centric focus" (Timeless software, composites, NW, NW 2.0 -> BTP) all the way to gen-AI centric software engineering. I'll introduce the concept of "AppFactories", include design thinking and product market fit, and the cultural shift of engineering teams. We'll explore end-to-end governance from strategic ideation, execution excellence and GTM as the "new moat in software engineering" (in contrast of "devs are the new kingmakers and 5x Gap in the past - early 2020). In short: what is great software? what is great software engineering? art? craft! Heavily inpacted and evolving....

In this project, the source system was a HANA database with poorly performing views, millions of records per day, and a business expectation for real-time reporting. The task was clear: not just lift and shift, but completely redesign the model while delivering a major performance improvement. In this session, I will walk you through how we tackled it: Replacing poorly performing HANA views with a leaner model in Datasphere Handling millions of records per day efficiently with robust processing strategies Detecting duplicates, tracking deletions, and ensuring reliable delta logic Applying performance optimizations and data structures to enable near real-time reporting The result: a scalable, future-proof model that not only migrated successfully but also delivered a significant performance boost. Whether you are preparing for a similar migration or simply want to learn how to get the most out of Datasphere for large-scale data volumes, this session will share practical tips, common pitfalls to avoid, and insights straight from the field.

If there is no announcement at Vegas about Snowflake, then I'm f***ed and will fill my timeslot with impromptu singing and dancing.. as they say "The show must go own".
